Your QR Code – What It Means & How to Use It
When your accreditation is approved, you’ll receive a personal QR code. This code is unique to your business and links directly to your public registry page – the customer-facing view of your Profile Page.
Why it matters
Your QR code is a guarantee of authenticity. Customers can scan it to confirm you are a certified member in good standing.
It shows that the products and services you included in your application are using the Token(s) you were awarded, and that they are properly listed in the public registry – proof of a genuine cultural connection.
It makes it very difficult for non-members to misuse the Mark or Tokens and helps stop counterfeit or fake products being passed off as “the real thing.”
Benefits for you
Builds customer confidence and trust in your products and services.
Protects your reputation against imitation or misuse.
Gives you stronger leverage on pricing, because customers can see the value of genuine Cook Islands accreditation.
A built-in compliance tool
The QR code is also part of how the program protects culture and ensures fairness:
It allows easy checks, encouraging self-policing across the market.
If a mistake happens, BTIB will work with you to correct it quickly.
For non-members using the Mark or Tokens, there are legal risks.
For members who deliberately misuse the Mark or Tokens, BTIB may suspend or revoke membership and accreditation, and legal action may follow.
Remember
By joining the program, you agree to the Rules, Regulations, and Requirements that govern the use of the Uniquely Cook Islands Mark and Tokens, and this includes the QR code. These rules exist to protect our culture, support businesses that follow the program properly, and make sure the Mark and Tokens continue to mean something genuine.
